ALLIED Medical has announced the release of the Episure AutoDetect which has been developed as a spring loaded, automatic loss of resistance (LOR) syringe.
Allied Medical says the Episure AutoDetect provides an objective, visual confirmation of loss of resistance, as opposed to the subjective “feel” required with standard LOR syringes. Allied says when the needle enters the epidural space, the plunger automatically releases.
Additionally, Allied Medical claims the Episure AutoDetect allows the anaesthesia provider to continuously advance the epidural needle with both hands resulting in enhanced control.
The LOR syringe is available in single units and a variety of epidural trays.
