DRE Medical Supplies have been named 2008 Company of the Year by Business First of Louisville.
The company specialises in selling refurbished equipment, including operating room lights, surgical tables and anaesthesia machines. Universities are among their biggest clients.
The title was awarded after the company expanded their online store to become the world’s largest marketplace for surgical supplies and medical devices on the internet. They are also currently expanding their business into veterinary science equipment.
As well as being named Company of the Year, DRE was placed in the Fast 50 as the 17th fastest growing company in Louisville.
It climbs eight places in the list from its 2007 25th position.
In the current global economic crisis, the equipment suppliers believe they will go from strength to strength in 2009 when facilities will need to stretch their limited budgets. Purchasing used equipment will become more fiscally appealing.
